The Buick GL8 is a minivan or MPV built by the joint venture of SAIC and GM (Shanghai-GM). It was the second model, after the Buick Century, to be produced by Shanghai-GM. Since its release in May 2001, it has remained a best seller; in the first decade of this century, a total of 1.75 million MPVs were sold in China, and one in every six of them was a GL8.
